About

David BoringI’m Dave Boring. But I’m not!

I have been interested in technology since I was a kid. I was the one that my parents would ask to hook up the new VCR or CD player. My first computer was a Texas Instruments TI-99/4A home computer. My first professional IT job was as a system operator on an IBM System/38 midrange system. Things have come a long way since then!

I spent over 25 years working in Information Technology (IT). I have worked for and helped companies from “mom and pop” to larger midsize organizations. I have been a system operator, network technician, and in management.

In 2015 I made a career shift to industrial automation and control products. This transition has been fun and challenging, putting some of my IT skills to use, while learning new electrical concepts and skills. I am enjoying the transition and the new role. But I really like the fact that I don’t have to work nights and weekends upgrading servers, or get middle-of-the-night phone calls because something failed.

My career motto is:
“The Right Technology + The Right People = Business Success”

Business Success requires both components. The wrong technology will be expensive and distracting to the company. The wrong people will not understand the technology and/or the business, which will lead to failure. When both are successfully implemented, a business will be top of their industry!

I am located in Southern California. You can find out more about me on my LinkedIn page: www.linkedin.com/in/davidboring

Welcome to Boring’s World. You are here.

David is a great guy, good leader, well liked by his staff, and technically strong.

I like to keep folks around me that have a better than normal sense of ethics and are hard workers. David fills both of those qualities at an exceptional level.

Long ago I learned that there is always something you can learn from everyone. Dave is one of those people who has much we all can learn from. Dave’s expertise in technology has always been an asset to me. I am also honored to be able to call Dave my friend.
