The Quartermaster’s Store – Cub Scout version

Cub Scouts singingAs anybody that has taken Wood Badge knows, singing goes with Scouting like syrup goes with pancakes. The two are great individually, but together they make something wonderful.

As a boy, one of my favorite fun songs was The Quartermaster’s Store. I can still remember singing about snakes as big as rakes and the mice in the rice. I wanted to share this with my sons and the other boys in the Cub Scout pack, but I wanted a version that used the Cub Scout ranks. I couldn’t find one, so I made one!

For your enjoyment, my Cub Scout version of The Quartermaster’s Store!

(Note: this uses the rank levels in the Boy Scouts of America’s Cub Scout program; other programs around the world will have different ranks. Some packs have Lion dens, but my son’s pack does not, so I did not create a verse for them.)

The Quartermaster’s Store – Cub Scout version

There are Bobcats, Bobcats, Bobcats
Sitting on the doormats
At the store! At the store!
There are Bobcats, Bobcats, Bobcats
Sitting on the doormats
At the Quartermaster’s store.

Chorus
My eyes are dim I can-not see.
I have not got my specs with me.
I have not got my specs with me.

(continue with each of the following)
2. Tigers – playing with some pliers
3. Wolfs – traveling to the Gulf
4. Bears – eating all the pears
5. Webelos – talking to their heroes
6. A-O-Ls – ringing all the bells

(For the last verse, each letter is sung once per line. For example:
There are A-O-Ls
Ringing all the bells…)
